The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning and behavior needs within the SEN team. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons for both whole-class and individual students.
- Prepare and organize resources to support learning activities and ensure a stimulating environment.
- Provide pastoral support to students, ensuring their well-being and engagement in learning.
- Contribute to evaluating student progress and providing feedback to class teachers.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure all students' learning needs are met.
- Support students in transitioning back to mainstream lessons when appropriate.
- Promote positive behavior and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Engage in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade A* - C / 9 - 4, including English and Maths.
- Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students.
- Knowledge of Every Child Matters, effective protection, and safeguarding practice.
Preferred
- Teaching Assistant qualification.
