The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning and behavior needs within the SEN team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons for both whole-class and individual students.
  • Prepare and organize resources to support learning activities and ensure a stimulating environment.
  • Provide pastoral support to students, ensuring their well-being and engagement in learning.
  • Contribute to evaluating student progress and providing feedback to class teachers.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure all students' learning needs are met.
  • Support students in transitioning back to mainstream lessons when appropriate.
  • Promote positive behavior and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Engage in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade A* - C / 9 - 4, including English and Maths.
  • Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students.
  • Knowledge of Every Child Matters, effective protection, and safeguarding practice.

Preferred

  • Teaching Assistant qualification.
