The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and helping them succeed both academically and socially. You will work closely with teachers and students, delivering tailored interventions and maintaining detailed support plans. Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs in lessons and through 1:1 and small group interventions
- Act as a keyworker for students with an EHCP, overseeing their progress and updating their SEND Support Plans
- Collaborate with teaching staff to create high-quality learning resources and support strategies
- Deliver targeted support to help students achieve their academic and personal goals
- Maintain regular communication with parents, teachers, and other professionals
- Attend and participate in training and professional development sessions
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good general education to GCSE Level 2 (or equivalent), including English and Maths
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively
- A strong commitment to supporting students with special educational needs
Preferred
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of special educational needs and disability (SEND) support frameworks
- Experience in delivering 1:1 or small group interventions
