The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support autistic learners in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will help create engaging learning experiences and play a key role in helping students reach their academic and personal goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Support learners through 1:1, paired, and small group teaching sessions.
- Prepare and deliver creative resources and materials to enhance learning.
- Assist in organizing and supervising community-based learning and educational visits.
- Support learners in developing communication, independence, and life skills.
- Work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families to meet individual learner needs.
- Help learners achieve academic and vocational qualifications to support their future success.
- Ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of personalized learning plans.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of autistic young people.
- Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a special education setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to individual learning needs.
- Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or learning support roles.
- Knowledge of autism and special educational needs.
- Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
- Experience with supporting learners in developing life skills and independence.
