The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support autistic learners in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will help create engaging learning experiences and play a key role in helping students reach their academic and personal goals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support learners through 1:1, paired, and small group teaching sessions.
  • Prepare and deliver creative resources and materials to enhance learning.
  • Assist in organizing and supervising community-based learning and educational visits.
  • Support learners in developing communication, independence, and life skills.
  • Work collaboratively with educators, therapists, and families to meet individual learner needs.
  • Help learners achieve academic and vocational qualifications to support their future success.
  • Ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of personalized learning plans.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of autistic young people.
  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a special education setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to individual learning needs.
  • Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or learning support roles.
  • Knowledge of autism and special educational needs.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Experience with supporting learners in developing life skills and independence.
