The Opportunity:

As a Post-16 Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering a therapy-led, dynamic curriculum tailored to meet the needs of students. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of subjects and support students in a variety of settings, both onsite and offsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects including Literacy, Numeracy, ICT, PSHE, Art & Design, and active learning.
  • Support students on the GOALS provision and other Post-16 pathways, including Employability and College Link.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Travel offsite with students as required to support learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with the transdisciplinary team to design and implement a therapy-led curriculum.
  • Provide 1:1 support to students where needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the wider staff team and external partners.
  • Manage workloads independently and promote positive behaviour in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent English skills, including clear written and spoken communication.
  • Strong reading, writing, and numeracy skills.
  • Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and promote positive conduct.
  • Proven ability to build good working relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Emotional resilience and the ability to prevent issues from escalating by working with the team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting students in a post-16 environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver a therapy-led curriculum.
  • Experience with Life & Living Skills Entry Level qualifications.
  • Confidence in working with a transdisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and evolving setting.
