The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide vital support to students with learning needs, helping them to develop confidence, self-esteem and academic progress. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and is committed to supporting their growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with learning needs in both 1:1 and small group settings.
- Deliver and develop individualised support strategies tailored to student needs.
- Work closely with teaching staff to share best practices and enhance learning resources.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement in class and activities.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities that support student progress.
- Provide emotional and academic support to help students build confidence and self-esteem.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and support interventions.
- Collaborate with the Chaplaincy team to ensure support aligns with the school’s ethos and values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Enthusiastic, understanding, and able to relate to young people.
- Experience working with students who have learning needs or specific challenges.
- Ability to deliver support programmes in both 1:1 and small group settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
Preferred
- Experience in education or a related field.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
- Ability to complete literacy and numeracy tests to a high standard.
- Experience in developing and implementing support strategies for students with specific needs.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary and term-time working conditions.
- 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time plus 2 weeks.
