Teaching Assistant role with a focus on supporting students with SEN and mental health needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students in both academic and personal development, working closely with teachers and staff to create a positive learning experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in accessing learning and managing emotional and behavioural needs
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and providing one-to-one support
  • Help students develop confidence and resilience through structured and nurturing guidance
  • Contribute to the creation of individual learning pathways tailored to student needs
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all students
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent support and progress
  • Participate in safeguarding and welfare training as required
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and behaviour

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Commitment to supporting students with special educational needs and mental health challenges
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively to the school community
  • Resilience, patience, and adaptability in a challenging environment
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to support students

Preferred

  • Experience working in education, youth work, or a similar setting
  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN or mental health needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices
