The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students in Years 5 and 6 within a dynamic and nurturing school setting. This role is essential in fostering effective learning and promoting a positive educational experience for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and managing classroom activities.
  • Assist in the supervision and care of students during lessons and break times.
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students as required.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement learning strategies.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Support the school during events and information evenings as required.
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant childcare qualification to at least NVQ Level 3.
  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing demands.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a teaching assistant or similar support role.
  • Knowledge of curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Experience with supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Familiarity with school policies and procedures.
