Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small group support across a range of subjects to help students reach their potential
  • Implement tailored educational and behaviour plans to support student development
  • Foster positive relationships and build confidence in students through encouragement and guidance
  • Prepare and manage learning resources to enhance classroom engagement and learning outcomes
  • Support students during educational visits, trips, and other enrichment activities
  • Assist with the transport of students when necessary, such as after detentions or school trips
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and wellbeing to inform targeted support

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • A calm, patient, and caring approach, especially in challenging situations
  • A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their learning
  • The ability to build strong, positive relationships with students and staff
  • Experience working with secondary-age pupils (ideal but not essential)
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to take initiative when needed

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and behaviour support strategies
  • Experience in preparing and managing educational resources and materials
