Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group support across a range of subjects to help students reach their potential
- Implement tailored educational and behaviour plans to support student development
- Foster positive relationships and build confidence in students through encouragement and guidance
- Prepare and manage learning resources to enhance classroom engagement and learning outcomes
- Support students during educational visits, trips, and other enrichment activities
- Assist with the transport of students when necessary, such as after detentions or school trips
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and wellbeing to inform targeted support
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- A calm, patient, and caring approach, especially in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their learning
- The ability to build strong, positive relationships with students and staff
- Experience working with secondary-age pupils (ideal but not essential)
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to take initiative when needed
Preferred
- Experience working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and behaviour support strategies
- Experience in preparing and managing educational resources and materials
