Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in the classroom and during one-on-one sessions to enhance their learning experience.
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Monitor and support students’ behaviour, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Provide individualised support to students with additional needs, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement effective learning strategies and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with staff and parents.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages participation and engagement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A valid NVQ in Teaching Assistant or equivalent experience and skills.
  • Strong understanding of current practices in supporting children’s learning and behaviour management.
  • Knowledge in key areas such as literacy, numeracy, and science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Previous experience with students with additional needs.
  • Familiarity with teaching English as a second language.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Demonstrated passion for education and student success.
