Teaching Assistant Level 3 opportunity with a school focused on supporting young people’s learning and personal development.

The Opportunity:

A Teaching Assistant Level 3 is needed to support students in achieving academic progress and personal growth. This role involves working closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning experiences, manage behavior, and help students overcome barriers to learning. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a positive impact on young people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in delivering planned lessons and assessments to individual or small groups of pupils.
  • Assist pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and promoting inclusion through communication, behavior management, and social skills development.
  • Provide supervision and guidance during non-lesson-based activities and ensure pupils are engaged and safe.
  • Deliver focused feedback to pupils on their progress and achievement under teacher guidance.
  • Promote positive behavior and manage conflicts in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the class team to support planned lessons and pupil outcomes.
  • Break down learning tasks into manageable steps and provide clear guidance on progress and next steps.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their confidence and self-esteem.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics at grade 9–5.
  • Level 3 qualification in Child Care, NVQ, or a relevant education-related field.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly those facing barriers to learning.
  • Strong knowledge of effective behavior management techniques.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support planned lessons.
  • Capacity to break down tasks into small steps and provide focused feedback.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Additional qualifications in education or child development.
  • Experience in alternative provision or special needs education.
