The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide support in small group settings and assist with classroom management and pupil development. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact in an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide teaching support in small groups and assist with individual pupil needs.
  • Occasionally cover the whole class for short periods when required.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Programmes.
  • Support teachers with classroom preparation, resources, and displays.
  • Undertake specific duties as identified by the class teacher or senior leadership.
  • Reinforce positive behaviour and encourage independent and collaborative learning.
  • Assist with pupils who are unwell and provide basic first aid when necessary.
  • Participate in in-service training and attend staff meetings as appropriate.
  • Support school policies and promote the school ethos with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Undertake playground duty on a rota basis during break times.
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as Speech Therapists and Educational Psychologists.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting positive behaviour and school values.
  • Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to obtain it.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Experience with Individual Education Programmes or special needs support.
  • Familiarity with curriculum planning and classroom management.
  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on creativity and enrichment activities.
