The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide support in small group settings and assist with classroom management and pupil development. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact in an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide teaching support in small groups and assist with individual pupil needs.
- Occasionally cover the whole class for short periods when required.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Programmes.
- Support teachers with classroom preparation, resources, and displays.
- Undertake specific duties as identified by the class teacher or senior leadership.
- Reinforce positive behaviour and encourage independent and collaborative learning.
- Assist with pupils who are unwell and provide basic first aid when necessary.
- Participate in in-service training and attend staff meetings as appropriate.
- Support school policies and promote the school ethos with a positive and professional attitude.
- Undertake playground duty on a rota basis during break times.
- Collaborate with other professionals such as Speech Therapists and Educational Psychologists.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to promoting positive behaviour and school values.
- Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to obtain it.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- Experience with Individual Education Programmes or special needs support.
- Familiarity with curriculum planning and classroom management.
- Experience in a school with a strong focus on creativity and enrichment activities.
