The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Geography Teacher for a fixed term contract until 2026. This role offers the opportunity to join a strong, well-resourced department and contribute to a vibrant boarding school community. The successful candidate will teach Geography to students from Year 5 to 13+ scholarship level and support the school’s extended day and weekend boarding duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Geography from Year 5 up to and including 13+ scholarship level
  • Contribute to the life of a busy boarding school, including supervision and participation in co-curricular activities
  • Liaise with the Deputy Head and other teachers to ensure effective pupil support
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil performance to inform future planning
  • Prepare pupils for 11+ and 13+ scholarships as required
  • Support the Extended Day programme and weekend boarding duties
  • Promote pleasurable and successful learning for all pupils
  • Act as an ambassador and professional advocate for the school
  • Keep up to date with developments in Geography teaching and curricular issues

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree and teaching qualification with evidence of professional development
  • Experience of teaching Spanish to pupils in Key Stage 2 and/or Key Stage 3

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching Geography at 13+ scholarship level
  • Confidence in teaching live online lessons
  • Strong knowledge of current educational issues and legislative guidance
  • Commitment to co-curricular opportunities including sports and the creative arts
  • Ability to work effectively in a boarding school environment
