The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the Preparatory School team on a temporary basis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a supportive and nurturing learning environment, working closely with class teachers and students. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring pupils receive the care and education they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support class teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with the supervision and care of pupils during lessons and breaks.
  • Help with administrative tasks such as preparing resources and managing classroom materials.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to support the academic and personal development of students.
  • Promote a positive and encouraging atmosphere that fosters student engagement and learning.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
  • Ensure that all pupils are treated with respect and care, in line with the school’s values.
  • Assist with the management of behaviour and the resolution of any issues that may arise in the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and a commitment to their education and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities.
  • Experience in a similar role or relevant qualifications in education or childcare.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Experience with supporting students with additional needs.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
