The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant - Secondary with SEN Experience to join a supportive team and make a meaningful impact on students’ learning journeys. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs in a progressive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs under the guidance of teaching and senior staff.
  • Assist in managing student behavior using a range of effective strategies.
  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Help set and monitor individual learning targets to ensure student progress.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of students and the school community.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to support curriculum delivery.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children aged 11–16 in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Resilience and a positive, professional attitude.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Experience with special educational needs and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Familiarity with behaviour management techniques.
  • Experience in a school environment with a strong focus on inclusion and student well-being.
