The Opportunity:

As an Assistant SENCo, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact in a school that values inclusion, growth, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SENCo in managing the day-to-day operations of the SEND provision.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provision maps.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students with SEND, providing timely interventions when needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure students’ needs are fully met.
  • Contribute to staff training and promote best practices in SEND support.
  • Support the delivery of inclusive teaching strategies across the school.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to student progress and support.
  • Work closely with the SENCo to ensure the effective use of resources and support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Commitment to inclusion and student success.
  • Experience in developing and reviewing IEPs and provision maps.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting, particularly within a SEND team.
  • Knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practice.
  • Experience with training and professional development.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and inclusive teaching strategies.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £29,374 - £33,314.
