The Opportunity:
As an Assistant SENCo, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact in a school that values inclusion, growth, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SENCo in managing the day-to-day operations of the SEND provision.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provision maps.
- Monitor and track the progress of students with SEND, providing timely interventions when needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure students’ needs are fully met.
- Contribute to staff training and promote best practices in SEND support.
- Support the delivery of inclusive teaching strategies across the school.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to student progress and support.
- Work closely with the SENCo to ensure the effective use of resources and support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Commitment to inclusion and student success.
- Experience in developing and reviewing IEPs and provision maps.
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting, particularly within a SEND team.
- Knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practice.
- Experience with training and professional development.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and inclusive teaching strategies.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £29,374 - £33,314.
- Generous holiday entitlement (37 days rising to 39 days after 5 years).
