The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant SEND to support students with special educational needs and disabilities. This role is essential in helping pupils achieve their full potential through tailored support and collaboration with teaching staff. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs and disabilities in a mainstream classroom setting.
- Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement individual learning plans.
- Assist in the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress through tailored key performance indicators.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students access the curriculum.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop effective teaching strategies for students with SEND.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communication with relevant staff.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance SEND support practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistant or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting, ideally within a mainstream classroom.
- Knowledge of SEN frameworks and strategies.
- Experience with assessment and tracking of student progress.
- Familiarity with the use of assistive technology in education.
