The Opportunity:
Join a dedicated team as a Teaching Assistant SEN, supporting students with complex learning needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and committed to making a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching and learning by working with small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher.
- Implement Individual Learning Plans and provide regular feedback on students’ progress to the class teacher.
- Assist with the supervision of discreet groups of pupils when the teacher is not present.
- Ensure all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities and support differences effectively.
- Participate in training to develop learning strategies and support student progress.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development and performance management.
- Communicate clearly and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 2 or equivalent qualification in literacy and numeracy.
- Basic knowledge of child development and learning.
- Commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with children with communication, severe, profound, or complex learning difficulties.
Preferred
- Experience in a special educational needs setting.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
