The Opportunity:

Join a dedicated team as a Teaching Assistant SEN, supporting students with complex learning needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and committed to making a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning by working with small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher.
  • Implement Individual Learning Plans and provide regular feedback on students’ progress to the class teacher.
  • Assist with the supervision of discreet groups of pupils when the teacher is not present.
  • Ensure all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities and support differences effectively.
  • Participate in training to develop learning strategies and support student progress.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development and performance management.
  • Communicate clearly and provide advice in accurate spoken English.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in literacy and numeracy.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and learning.
  • Commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with children with communication, severe, profound, or complex learning difficulties.

Preferred

  • Experience in a special educational needs setting.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
