The Opportunity:
As a Technology Assistant, you will support a vibrant and innovative Technology curriculum that includes STEM-based courses, GCSE and A-level Design and Technology. You will work closely with students and teachers to deliver high-quality technical and design education that inspires and challenges young minds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of a STEM-based curriculum for boys in the first three years of the school.
- Assist in the planning and facilitation of GCSE and A-level Design and Technology courses.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement engaging technical and design education programs.
- Provide guidance and support to students in practical and theoretical aspects of product design.
- Encourage and support the school’s enrichment program, including activities outside of regular school hours.
- Develop and maintain technical equipment and resources for the department.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including training in CAD software and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Technology curriculum and departmental initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Product Design or a related field.
- Willingness to work with students and support teaching activities.
- Strong interest in design, technology, and hands-on learning.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends where necessary.
Preferred
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of 3D printing, laser cutting, and other manufacturing technologies.
- Enthusiasm for robotics and programming.
- Experience in teaching or mentoring.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and accreditation.
