The Opportunity:

As a Technology Assistant, you will support a vibrant and innovative Technology curriculum that includes STEM-based courses, GCSE and A-level Design and Technology. You will work closely with students and teachers to deliver high-quality technical and design education that inspires and challenges young minds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of a STEM-based curriculum for boys in the first three years of the school.
  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of GCSE and A-level Design and Technology courses.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement engaging technical and design education programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in practical and theoretical aspects of product design.
  • Encourage and support the school’s enrichment program, including activities outside of regular school hours.
  • Develop and maintain technical equipment and resources for the department.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including training in CAD software and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Technology curriculum and departmental initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Product Design or a related field.
  • Willingness to work with students and support teaching activities.
  • Strong interest in design, technology, and hands-on learning.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends where necessary.

Preferred

  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of 3D printing, laser cutting, and other manufacturing technologies.
  • Enthusiasm for robotics and programming.
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and accreditation.
