As a Debater in Residence, you will play a key role in developing and managing a dynamic debating programme that enhances students’ critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality debating sessions that challenge and inspire students.
- Support the Debating Coordinators in managing and promoting the debating programme.
- Foster a culture of critical thinking, research, and public speaking among students.
- Collaborate with staff to integrate debating skills across the curriculum.
- Mentor and coach students to improve their debating abilities and confidence.
- Promote the debating programme through events, competitions, and outreach activities.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
- Contribute to the development of innovative and engaging debating resources.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in debating or public speaking.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to student development and academic excellence.
- Experience in working with young people in an educational setting.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or coaching within a school environment.
- Knowledge of debating formats and techniques.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and educational innovation.
- Experience with extracurricular programme management.
