The Opportunity:
As a Transition Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students during their transition from Primary to Secondary education. You will work closely with students, families, and staff to ensure a smooth and positive start to their time at the school. This is a vital role in promoting student wellbeing, academic engagement, and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students during the transition from Primary to Secondary education
- Work collaboratively with students, families, and staff to ensure a smooth transition process
- Promote student wellbeing and academic engagement through targeted support and guidance
- Develop and implement transition programs that meet the needs of all students
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of transition initiatives
- Provide regular updates to parents and staff on student progress and transition outcomes
- Foster positive relationships with Primary schools to ensure a seamless transition experience
- Contribute to the development of school policies and practices related to student support
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in student support or education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with children and families
- Understanding of the transition process from Primary to Secondary education
- Commitment to student wellbeing and academic success
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of pastoral care and student support strategies
- Experience with transition planning or student mentoring
- Familiarity with National Curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple priorities
