The Opportunity:

As a Transition Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students during their transition from Primary to Secondary education. You will work closely with students, families, and staff to ensure a smooth and positive start to their time at the school. This is a vital role in promoting student wellbeing, academic engagement, and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students during the transition from Primary to Secondary education
  • Work collaboratively with students, families, and staff to ensure a smooth transition process
  • Promote student wellbeing and academic engagement through targeted support and guidance
  • Develop and implement transition programs that meet the needs of all students
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of transition initiatives
  • Provide regular updates to parents and staff on student progress and transition outcomes
  • Foster positive relationships with Primary schools to ensure a seamless transition experience
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and practices related to student support

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in student support or education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with children and families
  • Understanding of the transition process from Primary to Secondary education
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and academic success

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of pastoral care and student support strategies
  • Experience with transition planning or student mentoring
  • Familiarity with National Curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple priorities
