The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Trust Clerk to support the clerking team during maternity leave. This role involves preparing and taking minutes at Governing Body and sub-committee meetings, as well as assisting with admissions and exclusions processes. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, professional, and capable of working flexibly, including attending evening meetings during term time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, papers, and minutes for Governing Body and sub-committee meetings.
  • Attend and take accurate minutes at evening meetings held at Trust schools.
  • Support the Admissions Appeals and Exclusions processes with administrative efficiency.
  • Maintain and update clerking records and documents in line with Trust procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff, governors, and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager and clerking team to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Attend training sessions to develop knowledge of Trust-specific procedures and systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute.
  • Proven secretarial experience, preferably in a clerking or administrative role.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to attend evening meetings during term time.
  • Commitment to the values and ethos of the Trust.

Preferred

  • Experience in clerking committees or similar governance roles.
  • Familiarity with school operations and admissions procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and other administrative software.
  • Previous experience within an education setting or multi-academy trust.
