The Opportunity:

As a School Matron, you will be the caring presence in the Senior and Middle School, ensuring the health and well-being of students. You will manage first-aid care, support students with allergies, and provide reassurance during the busy school day. This role offers a unique term-time schedule and a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-aid care and manage medical incidents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support students with specific health needs, including managing allergies and injuries.
  • Maintain accurate records of medical incidents and student health information.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and medical professionals to ensure student well-being.
  • Deliver a calm and reassuring presence to students during challenging times.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the organization of health and safety training for staff and students.
  • Act as a key point of contact for medical concerns and emergencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Current first-aid and emergency care qualifications.
  • Experience in a school or healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, effective decisions.
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of managing chronic conditions or allergies in students.
  • Experience in health and safety training or emergency response procedures.
  • Familiarity with school policies and procedures.
