Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the school’s management team.
  • Ensure robust accountability and oversight of the school’s educational and financial performance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s vision and strategic priorities.
  • Engage in committee work and attend regular board meetings to support decision-making.
  • Support the school in maintaining high standards of governance and compliance.
  • Promote the school’s values of inclusion, diversity, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the school leadership to enhance student outcomes and institutional success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to strengthen governance skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant professional experience in areas such as finance, education, human resources, or digital.
  • A strong understanding of governance principles and best practices.
  • The ability to contribute to strategic decision-making and provide independent, objective insights.
  • Commitment to the school’s mission of inclusion, excellence, and student success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in education or public sector governance.
  • Knowledge of school operations and the challenges faced by sixth form colleges.
  • Experience in community leadership or involvement in local initiatives.
  • Transferable skills that support effective governance and decision-making.
  • A willingness to engage actively with the school community and contribute to its ongoing development.
