The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Theatre Technician to assist in the operation of the Hammond Theatre and other performance spaces. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that all events and productions run smoothly and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of stage and performance equipment.
- Support the Theatre team with technical aspects of productions and events.
- Ensure all performance spaces are prepared and maintained to a high standard.
- Collaborate with theatre staff, performers, and external contractors to deliver successful events.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during rehearsals and performances.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and inventory.
- Participate in the planning and execution of school events and performances.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all theatre-related activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a theatre or performance-related role.
- Strong technical knowledge of stage machinery, lighting, and sound systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality performances and events.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of theatre production software and tools.
- Previous experience with event management or stage management.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
