The Opportunity:

As a Youth Theatre Assistant, you will support rehearsals and workshops, helping young performers develop their vocal technique and confidence. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a creative and supportive theatre environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of theatre workshops and rehearsals across a term
  • Support the Director during workshops and rehearsals as needed
  • Record and track student attendance accurately
  • Help with setup and tidying before and after sessions
  • Participate in and lead group games and exercises to build ensemble skills
  • Encourage and nurture musical confidence and vocal technique in students aged 9-18
  • Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere during all sessions

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one
  • Passion and energy for performance work
  • Experience working with children aged 9-18
  • Ability to support rehearsals from the piano
  • Comfortable teaching singing to young performers

Preferred

  • Experience in theatre or performance education
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to work on Saturdays from 9:00am-4:00pm
  • Knowledge of musical theatre and vocal techniques
