The Opportunity:
As Vice Principal – Behaviour and Culture, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a positive, inclusive school culture that promotes student achievement and wellbeing. You will work closely with the principal to drive school improvement, lead behaviour initiatives, and support staff in delivering high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop school-wide behaviour and culture strategies to ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students and staff.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to implement policies and practices that promote student engagement and academic success.
- Support staff in developing and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider community.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour and culture initiatives, providing regular feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Work with the senior leadership team to ensure consistency in behaviour management across all year groups and departments.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, safeguarding, and student wellbeing through staff training and professional development.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student achievement and behaviour.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s strategic vision and improvement plan.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in education, ideally as an assistant or deputy head.
- A clear vision for raising standards and driving school improvement.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead teams with empathy and authority.
- Commitment to inclusivity, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.
Preferred
- Experience in behaviour management and culture development within a school setting.
- Knowledge of current educational policies and best practices in student behaviour and inclusion.
- Experience with curriculum development and school improvement strategies.
- Strong track record in fostering positive relationships with staff, students, and parents.
