The Opportunity:

As a Vice Principal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the school and supporting the Principal in delivering a vision of academic excellence and high standards of behaviour. This is a leadership role with the potential to make a significant impact on student outcomes and school improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the implementation of the school’s vision and policy.
  • Deputise for the Principal in their absence and take on delegated responsibilities.
  • Oversee curriculum planning, staffing, timetabling, and cross-curricular initiatives.
  • Monitor and support pupil progress through assessments, interventions, and reporting systems.
  • Contribute to school self-evaluation and lead on student voice initiatives.
  • Work with the Heads of Year to establish effective behaviour for learning and support student welfare.
  • Implement and review relevant policies with the support of the Principal and Governing Board.
  • Manage faculty or subject areas and support Assistant Principals as required.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of school operations and lead parent meetings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Vice Principal or Assistant Principal with a track record of driving improvement and delivering measurable impact.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
  • Ability to manage and lead teams effectively.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, and a focus on student outcomes.

Preferred

  • Experience in school self-evaluation and data-driven decision making.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience in working with diverse communities and supporting student welfare.
  • Familiarity with United Learning Trust and its ethos of 'the best in everyone'.
