The Opportunity:
As a Vice Principal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the school and supporting the Principal in delivering a vision of academic excellence and high standards of behaviour. This is a leadership role with the potential to make a significant impact on student outcomes and school improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the implementation of the school’s vision and policy.
- Deputise for the Principal in their absence and take on delegated responsibilities.
- Oversee curriculum planning, staffing, timetabling, and cross-curricular initiatives.
- Monitor and support pupil progress through assessments, interventions, and reporting systems.
- Contribute to school self-evaluation and lead on student voice initiatives.
- Work with the Heads of Year to establish effective behaviour for learning and support student welfare.
- Implement and review relevant policies with the support of the Principal and Governing Board.
- Manage faculty or subject areas and support Assistant Principals as required.
- Ensure the smooth functioning of school operations and lead parent meetings.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Vice Principal or Assistant Principal with a track record of driving improvement and delivering measurable impact.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
- Ability to manage and lead teams effectively.
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, and a focus on student outcomes.
Preferred
- Experience in school self-evaluation and data-driven decision making.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience in working with diverse communities and supporting student welfare.
- Familiarity with United Learning Trust and its ethos of 'the best in everyone'.
