As Vice Principal Pastoral, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a supportive and high-achieving environment where every child can thrive. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the pastoral care system to ensure a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all students.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership team to uphold the school’s vision and values in all aspects of student life.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote student well-being, behaviour, and personal development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pastoral support systems and provide regular reports to the leadership team.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to address student needs and ensure consistent support.
  • Represent the school at key events and meetings, both internally and externally.
  • Provide guidance and professional development for staff in pastoral and welfare matters.
  • Ensure that the school’s character curriculum is effectively delivered and embedded across the student body.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, ideally in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of pastoral care, student welfare, and behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Experience of working in an OFSTED Outstanding school or similar high-achieving institution.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing character education or values-based curricula.
  • A background in supporting students from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
  • Experience of working with external agencies or in multi-agency collaboration.
  • Leadership experience in a school with a strong focus on student outcomes and well-being.
