The Opportunity:

A Visiting Music Teacher (Singing) is needed to deliver high-quality one-to-one singing lessons to students across all year groups. This role offers the chance to inspire young singers, prepare them for performances, and help them develop their musical talents in a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 30 one-to-one singing lessons per week to students of varying abilities and musical interests.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and individual needs.
  • Prepare students for examinations, assessments, and performance opportunities.
  • Foster a love of music and encourage lifelong musical engagement.
  • Support students in developing their singing and performance skills.
  • Collaborate with the Music Department to enhance the overall music program.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them achieve their potential.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and musical excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent sight-reading and musicianship skills.
  • Strong ensemble and accompaniment abilities.
  • Proven experience in teaching singing at a range of levels.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality music education.

Preferred

  • Experience in preparing students for music examinations or performances.
  • Knowledge of music theory and pedagogy.
  • Experience with teaching girls or in an independent school setting.
  • Familiarity with the GDST or similar educational networks.
