The Opportunity:

A Year 4 Class Teacher is needed for a maternity cover role starting in April 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative educator to contribute to the academic and personal growth of young students within a supportive and dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the curriculum requirements and promote student achievement.
  • Support the personal and academic development of all students in the Year 4 class.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the year group and key stages to ensure consistency and excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the planning, delivery, and assessment of the school’s enrichment and extra-curricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and carers.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices.
  • Uphold the school’s values, including high standards of behaviour, conduct, and appearance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in primary education.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire young learners.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and mission.
  • Willingness to work flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience working with girls in a primary setting.
  • Familiarity with the all-through education model.
  • Experience in supporting student well-being and pastoral care.
  • Knowledge of the GDST network and its educational ethos.
  • Experience in delivering enrichment and extra-curricular activities.
