Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3 & 4.
  • Support students in making the best possible progress through innovative and effective teaching methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a stimulating English curriculum.
  • Engage and motivate students through a variety of learning experiences and extra-curricular opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement and achievement.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the ongoing growth of the department.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusivity, well-being, and student success.
  • Work closely with students to foster a positive learning environment and encourage a love of learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience.
  • Experience in teaching English at Key Stages 3 & 4.
  • Commitment to student progress and engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities or pastoral support.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • Leadership experience or an interest in taking on leadership roles within the department.
