The Opportunity:

A Year 6 Class Teacher with Subject Leadership responsibilities is needed to deliver high-quality teaching and support curriculum development across Key Stage 2. This role offers the chance to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact on students and the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons to Year 6 pupils, ensuring progression and achievement.
  • Take ownership of subject leadership responsibilities, supporting colleagues in curriculum development.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and learning strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, parents, and external partners to support student success.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider educational vision and initiatives.
  • Plan and deliver a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners and aligns with the National Curriculum.
  • Support the school in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stage 2.
  • Lead and mentor other teachers in subject-specific areas.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years’ teaching experience in primary education, with recent experience teaching Year 6 or upper Key Stage 2.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum for England at Key Stage 2.
  • Strong ability to plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Experience in a leadership or coordinating role within a primary school setting.

Preferred

  • Experience in subject leadership or curriculum development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with data analysis and using assessment to improve teaching and learning.
