The Opportunity:

As a Year Leader, you will be responsible for the academic and pastoral welfare of a year group, working closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive learning environment. This is a temporary role offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on student progress and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the behaviour, welfare, and academic achievement of a designated year group.
  • Lead a team of tutors to support the development of high standards in student behaviour and learning culture.
  • Analyse data to inform proactive and reactive interventions, mentoring, and counselling.
  • Work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff to remove barriers to learning progress.
  • Promote a culture of support and pastoral care that enables every child to make rapid progress.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of school policies and procedures across the year group.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and achievement regularly.
  • Support the development of a positive and inclusive school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or leadership role within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  • Experience in analysing data to inform student support strategies.
  • Commitment to the academic and pastoral development of students.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar role within a multi-academy trust.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student mentoring.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in a Church of England school or similar environment.
