The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Food and Health & Social Care to lead a dedicated team and deliver a high-quality curriculum at KS3 and KS4. This role offers the opportunity to shape teaching and learning and drive improvement in student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Food and Health & Social Care department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and deliver a curriculum aligned with subject intent and pedagogical research.
- Support staff development and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Monitor and improve student progress and outcomes across KS3 and KS4.
- Work closely with the faculty to ensure consistency and excellence in teaching.
- Represent the department within the school and wider education community.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular links and student engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a similar role within a school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Food and Health & Social Care.
- Experience in planning and delivering high-quality curricula at KS3 and KS4.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of teachers.
Preferred
- Experience in leading curriculum development and innovation.
- Knowledge of AQA and OCR qualifications.
- Experience with pastoral care and student wellbeing.
- Strong understanding of assessment and progression strategies.
- Experience with professional development and staff training.
