Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality PE lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Promote a culture of physical activity, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Plan and implement a varied and engaging curriculum that supports both physical competence and personal development.
  • Supervise students in changing facilities and PE activities in accordance with safeguarding and privacy guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the school’s mission and values.
  • Encourage student participation in extracurricular sports and physical activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in PE, providing constructive feedback.
  • Promote the school’s ethos of ambition, integrity, and respect through teaching and leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in teaching PE at secondary level.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working with male students in a school setting.
  • Experience in coaching or leading sports teams.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and curriculum development.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student wellbeing.
