The Opportunity:

As Assistant Principal – Behaviour and Culture (Attendance specialism), you will play a pivotal role in shaping a positive and inclusive school culture. This is a strategic position within a dynamic Senior Leadership Team, focused on driving high standards in behaviour, attendance, and student wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop school-wide strategies to improve attendance, behaviour, and student engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure consistent and effective implementation of school values and policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of behaviour and attendance initiatives, using data to drive improvement.
  • Support staff in fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and ambition across the school community.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to students, ensuring they understand and uphold the school’s expectations.
  • Develop and implement pastoral systems that support student wellbeing and academic success.
  • Coordinate with external partners and families to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour and attendance.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through professional development and staff training.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • An Honours Degree and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Experience in middle or senior leadership within a school setting.
  • Evidence of successful and sustained impact in an educational environment.
  • Experience of leading whole-school strategy and improvement.
  • Record of relevant continuous professional development with a leadership or management component.

Preferred

  • Experience in attendance management or behaviour support roles.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing practices.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational network.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team towards shared goals.
