The Opportunity:

As a Year Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s mission to raise achievement and ensure the well-being of all students. This is a pivotal position that directly impacts student outcomes and fosters a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the pastoral care, behaviour, and safeguarding of students across the year group.
  • Support students with attendance, personal development, and academic progress.
  • Work closely with parents, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure the needs of all students are met.
  • Implement and monitor the school's behaviour and disciplinary policies consistently and fairly.
  • Identify and support students in need, ensuring no child is left behind.
  • Contribute to the school’s strategic plan and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Year Manager Leader to ensure alignment with school goals and values.
  • Promote the school’s culture of inclusion, aspiration, and partnership.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and support students effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of young people.
  • Experience in managing behaviour and disciplinary matters in line with school policies.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational environment.
  • A passion for improving student outcomes and raising academic standards.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £30,512 to £32,222.
