The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Art Teacher to cover a maternity leave position. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic department and make a meaningful impact on students' learning and development across KS3 to KS5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a comprehensive and engaging art curriculum to students across key stages 3 to 5.
- Support and guide students in GCSE Art & Design, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching practices.
- Foster a creative and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and expression.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum planning and review.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their artistic and personal growth.
- Stay up to date with current trends and developments in the art world and incorporate these into teaching.
- Support the school’s commitment to co-curricular activities and extracurricular opportunities in the arts.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in art education.
- Proven ability to deliver effective lessons across key stages 3 to 5.
- Strong understanding of GCSE Art & Design curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student development and a passion for the arts.
Preferred
- Experience in a school with a strong focus on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
- Experience with teaching in a mixed Sixth Form environment.
- Familiarity with digital tools and resources in art education.
- A reflexive and collaborative approach to teaching and professional development.
