The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Development Team and support a pupil in their academic and personal growth. This role is crucial in helping students make the most of the educational opportunities available at the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a pupil in their academic and personal development through tailored learning strategies.
- Work closely with teachers and senior staff to ensure the pupil's progress is monitored and celebrated.
- Deliver one-to-one tuition in a variety of subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities that align with the school’s curriculum and values.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
- Encourage and nurture the pupil’s confidence, independence, and enthusiasm for learning.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the school’s vision and values.
- Collaborate with other members of the Learning Development Team to provide consistent and effective support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in education or learning support, ideally working with children with additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with the willingness to undergo necessary checks and training.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently, often on a one-to-one basis.
- A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in education or a related field.
Preferred
- Experience in a school setting, particularly in a 1:1 support role.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
- Experience with educational software and digital learning tools.
- A degree or higher-level qualification in education, child development, or a related field.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of £16.63.
- Free school lunches during term time.
- Full-time, term-time only contract with a fixed term until 7 July 2027.
