Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children in the classroom under the direction of the teacher to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Prepare classroom materials, assist with displays, and support teachers in lesson planning.
  • Supervise break and lunchtimes, ensuring safe and positive student behavior.
  • Conduct daily guided reading sessions and maintain accurate reading records.
  • Assist with teaching lessons, as required, following the school's policy and syllabus.
  • Support extracurricular activities and contribute to the life of the school.
  • Ensure children are properly dressed and prepared for the day, and that all reading materials are sent home.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Enhanced DBS and prohibition order clearance.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, Prevent Duty, anti-bullying, and behavior policies.
  • Commitment to promoting British values and a caring school ethos.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and professional appearance.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support both students and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting children in a school setting.
  • Background in early years or primary education.
  • Experience with reading schemes and literacy support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
