Key Responsibilities:
- Support children in the classroom under the direction of the teacher to foster a positive learning environment.
- Prepare classroom materials, assist with displays, and support teachers in lesson planning.
- Supervise break and lunchtimes, ensuring safe and positive student behavior.
- Conduct daily guided reading sessions and maintain accurate reading records.
- Assist with teaching lessons, as required, following the school's policy and syllabus.
- Support extracurricular activities and contribute to the life of the school.
- Ensure children are properly dressed and prepared for the day, and that all reading materials are sent home.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Enhanced DBS and prohibition order clearance.
- Understanding of safeguarding, Prevent Duty, anti-bullying, and behavior policies.
- Commitment to promoting British values and a caring school ethos.
- Excellent attendance, punctuality, and professional appearance.
- Ability to work as part of a team and support both students and colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or supporting children in a school setting.
- Background in early years or primary education.
- Experience with reading schemes and literacy support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
