A Teaching Assistant is needed to support students and teachers in a vibrant and growing school. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, supervising students, and contributing to the overall learning experience. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and dedicated to helping children achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children in the classroom under the direction of the teacher, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Assist with preparing and organizing classroom materials, displays, and resources.
  • Supervise students during breaks and lunchtimes, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Conduct daily reading sessions and monitor progress in line with the class teacher’s guidance.
  • Help manage and maintain reading records and ensure they are up to date.
  • Assist in delivering lessons when required, following the agreed policy and syllabus.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the life of the school.
  • Ensure students are properly dressed and prepared for the day, and that the cloakroom area is tidy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Enhanced DBS and prohibition order clearance.
  • Awareness and commitment to safeguarding, Prevent Duty, anti-bullying, and behaviour policies.
  • Ability to promote British values and maintain a positive, supportive classroom environment.
  • Commitment to working with children of all abilities and supporting their learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and professional appearance.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting children in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with reading schemes and literacy support strategies.
  • Experience with extracurricular activities or pastoral care.
  • Background in staff training or professional development.
