The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced A Level Economics Teacher to join our high-achieving department. The role involves teaching the full AQA Economics syllabus to both Lower and Upper Sixth students, with an emphasis on delivering engaging and impactful lessons. The successful candidate will contribute to a department known for its strong results and innovative teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach the full AQA Economics syllabus to both Lower and Upper Sixth students.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that inspire and motivate pupils.
  • Support students in preparing for and participating in external competitions and events.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of departmental resources and teaching materials.
  • Assist with study-related trips and events, including school trips and student-led talks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and high-quality learning experience.
  • Provide additional support for students in preparation for prestigious opportunities and competitions.
  • Model excellent teaching practice and maintain high standards of classroom management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant degree and experience in Economics or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Economics at A Level.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and progress.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in a previous career outside teaching, particularly in Economics or business.
  • Familiarity with tech-driven teaching resources and student iPads.
  • Experience with Economics competitions and events such as the Economics Olympiad.
  • Experience with student-led initiatives and extracurricular activities.
