The Opportunity:

Join a team of subject experts as an A-Level History Examiner and contribute to the fair and accurate marking of student responses. This flexible, remote role allows you to earn up to £1,000 while enhancing your professional development and gaining valuable insights into student performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review student responses and apply the mark scheme accurately and consistently to ensure fair results.
  • Mark approximately 100 A-level History papers within a one-month timeframe.
  • Commit an average of 15 to 20 hours per week during the exam period.
  • Participate in standardisation sessions to ensure alignment with marking guidelines.
  • Complete marking tasks from home or school at times that suit your schedule.
  • Maintain clear communication with the team leader and adhere to deadlines.
  • Provide feedback and support to ensure high-quality marking outcomes.
  • Engage with a community of subject specialists to share best practices and improve marking techniques.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least three full terms’ teaching experience in History within the last five years.
  • A senior referee who can verify your relevant experience.
  • Availability during the marking and standardisation period.

Preferred

  • A degree, teaching qualification, or equivalent in History.
  • Experience with AQA qualifications or similar exam boards.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with A-Level History curriculum and assessment standards.
