A-Level History Tutor with experience in SEN support needed in Reigate.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced A-Level History Tutor with excellent communication skills and a passion for working with students with SEN. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through tailored tuition and professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality A-Level History tuition to students with special educational needs
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and goals
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
  • Implement the Bright Heart Approach to build trust and confidence in students
  • Provide regular progress updates and support student development
  • Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and feedback
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in A-Level History
  • University qualification or studying towards one and A-levels
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate (with check of the children’s barred list)
  • 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
  • Familiarity with special educational needs (SEN) and SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) support
  • Experience with online and in-person tutoring
  • Previous involvement in training or professional development programs
