The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced A-Level History Tutor with excellent communication skills and a passion for working with students with SEN. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through tailored tuition and professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality A-Level History tuition to students with special educational needs
Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and goals
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
Implement the Bright Heart Approach to build trust and confidence in students
Provide regular progress updates and support student development
Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities
Maintain accurate records of student progress and feedback
Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
Excellent spoken and written English
Strong subject knowledge in A-Level History
University qualification or studying towards one and A-levels
Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
Current Enhanced DBS certificate (with check of the children’s barred list)
2 relevant professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
Familiarity with special educational needs (SEN) and SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) support
Experience with online and in-person tutoring
Previous involvement in training or professional development programs
