The Opportunity:

As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver one-to-one and small group tuition to students with special educational needs, helping them build confidence, self-esteem, and academic skills. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and bespoke lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN and ASC.
• Build trust and rapport with students to enhance their self-esteem and motivation.
• Work closely with parents and guardians to support the student’s learning journey.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of students.
• Collaborate with education consultants to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
• Provide regular feedback to parents and the school on student progress and development.
• Attend training and development sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and lesson plans.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK.
• Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Strong subject knowledge in the areas you wish to tutor.
• University qualification or studying towards one and A-levels.
• Experience working with students with special educational needs and ASC.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

• Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives.
• Flexibility and good availability for in-person tutoring, including daytime hours.
• Experience with creating individual learning plans (ILPs) for students.
• Familiarity with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) support.
