The Opportunity:
As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver one-to-one and small group tuition to students with special educational needs, helping them build confidence, self-esteem, and academic skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and bespoke lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN and ASC.
- Build trust and rapport with students to enhance their self-esteem and motivation.
- Work closely with parents and guardians to support the student’s learning journey.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of students.
- Collaborate with education consultants to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Provide regular feedback to parents and the school on student progress and development.
- Attend training and development sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and lesson plans.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK.
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong subject knowledge in the areas you wish to tutor.
- University qualification or studying towards one and A-levels.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and ASC.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives.
- Flexibility and good availability for in-person tutoring, including daytime hours.
- Experience with creating individual learning plans (ILPs) for students.
- Familiarity with special educational needs (SEN) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) support.
