The Opportunity:

As an Academic Mentor - 6th Form, you will play a vital role in supporting students and staff within the 6th form team. This is a key position that requires a strong ability to build relationships, inspire young people, and maintain high standards of behaviour and academic performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students and staff within the 6th form team.
  • Contribute to the academic and pastoral development of students.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Manage student behaviour consistently and confidently.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Hold students to account and ensure clear expectations are met.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, kindness, and aspiration.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Experience in managing student behaviour and maintaining discipline.
  • Commitment to the principles of inclusivity, kindness, and mutual respect.

Preferred

  • Experience in a 6th form or senior leadership role.
  • Background in pastoral care or student support.
  • Familiarity with the school’s WE BELIEVE principles.
  • Experience in promoting student well-being and academic success.
