The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Mathematics Curriculum Lead to drive excellence in teaching and learning across all key stages. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a dynamic curriculum, support colleagues, and raise standards in a school consistently rated outstanding by Ofsted.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Mathematics curriculum from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, ensuring a clear and ambitious progression.
  • Design and implement targeted strategies to support vulnerable students and those with low prior attainment.
  • Model and embed high-quality teaching practices across the department.
  • Develop a robust assessment framework to identify student needs and inform curriculum improvements.
  • Support colleagues through learning walks, drop-ins, and department development planning.
  • Co-design and lead Subject Learning Communities to build collective expertise.
  • Lead the implementation of Maths Mastery approaches and represent the school in wider curriculum networks.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the Headteacher.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Hold an appropriate teaching certificate and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Hold a recognised degree (or equivalent) with a good classification in a relevant subject
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 4
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Mathematics
  • Detailed knowledge of current curriculum and pedagogical developments
  • Ability to teach Mathematics up to Key Stage 4
  • Commitment to raising achievement through high standards of teaching and learning
  • Flexible approach to teaching that promotes learning opportunities for all students
  • Commitment to the school’s principles of teaching, learning, and assessment
  • Effective behaviour management skills
  • Strong classroom practice and communication skills
