Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic oversight and guidance on financial matters.
- Support the Governing Council in fulfilling its responsibilities for the school’s governance.
- Contribute to the development and review of the school’s financial strategy and policies.
- Work collaboratively with the Head and Senior Leadership Team to ensure the school’s financial sustainability.
- Assist in the evaluation of the school’s performance and long-term planning.
- Participate in meetings and discussions that influence the school’s direction and priorities.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to financial governance.
- Engage with the wider school community and contribute to decision-making processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified accountant with 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong understanding of financial governance and strategic decision-making.
- Commitment to education and the values of the school.
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute constructively to a team.
- Experience in a governance or trustee role is advantageous.
Preferred
- Experience in the education sector or non-profit governance.
- Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities in independent school management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
