The Opportunity:

As an Achievement Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and inspiring students to reach their full potential. You will be a key figure in their academic and personal development, providing individualised guidance, motivation, and challenge. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people within a dynamic and supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the weekly tutorial programme to assigned tutor groups, ensuring a consistent and high-quality learning experience.
  • Establish and maintain a positive rapport with students, fostering a sense of identity and belonging within tutor groups.
  • Monitor student progress using the school’s assessment data tracking system and provide focused 1:1 reviews.
  • Support students with university and progression applications, including UCAS and T Level placements.
  • Manage and prioritise 1:1 interviews and reviews to ensure timely and effective student support.
  • Liaise with senior staff, parents, and external agencies to address student needs and concerns.
  • Contribute to college events, student induction processes, and the enrolment of new students.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and diversity policies, and support the welfare of students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a student support or tutorial role within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Ability to use data monitoring systems and track student attendance and progress effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Experience in providing individualised support and guidance to students.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering tutorial programmes and leading student groups.
  • Familiarity with UCAS and progression application processes.
  • Experience with T Levels or other vocational pathways.
  • Knowledge of ethical leadership in education and a commitment to the school’s mission and ethos.
  • Experience in event organisation or student induction processes.
