Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality Art & Photography lessons that inspire creativity and technical skill.
  • Support students in refining their artistic practice and building strong, well-resolved creative outcomes.
  • Contribute to a vibrant studio culture through discussion-based learning and reflective practice.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and future creative pathways, offering both academic and pastoral support.
  • Engage in co-curricular activities, House events and other aspects of the wider school community.
  • Participate in professional development and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Model creative risk-taking and encourage students to think independently and express themselves confidently.
  • Contribute to the school’s exhibition programme and help foster a culture of artistic excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Art & Photography or a related field.
  • Strong practical skills in Fine Art and Photography, with the ability to teach across a range of media.
  • Commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking and independent learning.
  • Experience in preparing students for assessments and supporting their academic and personal development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the school’s creative culture.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching both Fine Art and Photography.
  • Background in a values-led or innovative educational setting.
  • Experience with exhibition-based learning or co-curricular involvement.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Passion for the visual arts and a reflective approach to teaching.
